Savannah Downtown Neighborhood Association
|
AboutThe Downtown Neighborhood Association, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established 45 years ago by downtown residents in an effort to protect the National Historic Landmark District’s architectural heritage, encourage restoration and beautification, safeguard Savannah’s unique downtown environment, and advocate public policies related to these goals. The DNA provides grants to support local organizations that enhance the downtown community and its way of life through education, safety, music and children’s activities. | AdvocacyAs an active organization representing the livability of downtown, the Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) works closely with local government agencies to ensure the fabric of our neighborhoods and quality of life are protected. | MembershipThe DNA was established because residents saw the need to unite and protect the Landmark District. They met those needs and their vision has been sustained for over four decades. Efforts to protect the District’s architectural heritage, encourage restoration and beautification, and support local organizations that enhance our downtown community and way of life continue to be seen. Approximately 500 members are dedicated to making downtown a thriving neighborhood of families, individuals, students, and businesses.
